Meet Our Executive VP of Innovative Solutions Team
Bret Givens
Bringing his expertise and experience from STI-TEC, SENTIR is thrilled to have Bret Givens as Executive Vice President of our Innovative Solutions Team (EVP/IST). While holding a similar role with STI-TEC, Bret established a thriving workplace that is growing at a challenging and manageable rate while cultivating innovative thinking, problem-solving, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Bret has over 35 years of experience in software engineering for aeronautical weapon systems. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Engineering from Wright State University and obtained his Project Management Professional certification in 2003. Bret’s resume is quite impressive. Prior to joining STI-TEC, he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of InfoSciTex (IST), a DCS Company. He joined IST in 2007 and increased contract backlog by 160%, sales by 68%, and net income by 104%. Before IST, he was employed by General Dynamics (formerly Veridian Engineering) as a Lead Engineer and then as a Program Manager. He also spent three years as a Civil Servant and six years with Systran Corporation.
When not engaged in work with SENTIR and STI-TEC, Bret enjoys serving the Air Force Research Laboratory by applying his skills to strategic Air Force problems using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis. Bret founded the Dayton Area Drone User Group in 2013, which now has over 330 members, many who are Part 107 certified. He obtained his Part 107 certification in September 2016, Since receiving his certification, he has flown over 100 hours of fixed-wing and quadcopter UAS for precision agriculture, professional-grade surveying, building inspection, and UAS flight training.
Bret spends his downtime traveling with his wife, spending time with his two adult children, and spoiling his granddaughters.
